Brent Knott worked for Weyerhaeuser for 34 years as an instrument technician.  After retiring, a friend convinced him into buying a small lathe.  He found he enjoyed turning wood and soon purchased a larger lathe.  He decided to apply his technical skills to designing segmented bowls & vases.  His first bowl contained 36 pieces.  He was happy with the result and was hooked!

Brent’s creations can contain as many as 1,500 individually cut to fit pieces that he incorporates into his design.  He uses a variety of woods, including ash, oak, yew, fruitwoods, and maples.  He also includes exotic woods such as bloodwood, purple heart, cocobolo, and ebony.
Brent’s creations can be found in several art galleries in Western Washington. He is also  a member of ARTrails of Southwest Washington. Some of his bowls & vases can be viewed at artrailsofsww.org.
